The maximum memory Server supports is 4 TB, I do not think the memory limitations for the different licensing models has been announced yet. Please do not say same as Windows Server R2 as an answer.
I’m pretty sure Server standard will support the same amount of memory as Server Enterprise as there will be no such thing as ‘enterprise’ only Standard and Data-center. And boy I can’t find where I read this on Microsoft site however I think this link is pretty close:.
I agree. Reading the “Licensing and Pricing FAQ”, it sure does sound like Standard and Datacenter would support the same amount of physical memory. I had a chat session with a Microsoft rep a little earlier today, and their answer was that Standard will support up to 4 TB of physical memory.
They went further to say that the only difference between Standard and Datacenter would be based on how many virtual instances you will run. I hope this Microsoft rep is correct.
Does anyone have a solid answer on this yet that is printed somewhere? I know there were memory limits for Server Standard before and wonder if that has increased, been taken away, or is the same and I would like to find a solid answer. Thursday, August 9, PM. Wednesday, August 22, PM. From what I understand Standard will get all the features of Enterprise and Enterprise goes away. Data center however will still have other features that Standard does not.
