YMCO started 2021 with an amazing initiative and delivered a brand new project called – Online Cookalong. We made a range of and a variety of dishes through zoom in the company of one another. We provided free ingredients cooking packs for all those who signed up via google form. The packs were substantial and suitable for the entire household to take part and enjoy as an interactive activity. This project helped bring families and peers together and helped the community connect via virtual means.

This was a really fun and engaging event enjoyed by all community members of all ages. This was a great opportunity to explore new and different dishes many of which had not been cooked before.

• Pizza
• Apple pie
• Tuna pasta
• Brownies
• Stir fry
• Scones
• Fajita
• And cupcakes!

We had hosts ranging from 6 to 60 years old! The cookalong team consisted of the volunteer hosts, volunteer drivers and shoppers – all of whom had worked together to ensure everybody was involved. We are so grateful to all those who have given us their time and put their efforts to make this successful.
