School Exhibition
Over a period of 2 days and 8 classes we spoke to over 240 high school students between the ages of 12-16 (year 7 to 11).
The students listened to a short talk from Brother Tanvier who explained what is Islam, What Muslims believe and worship and the 5 pillars of Islam. In between there was great interaction with questions being answered by students and the younger students were eager to answer questions presented!
We had arranged a Calligraphy station where the students were able to produce calligraphy of their own names with help from an experienced stylist.
We also had an Islamic attire station where a brief introduction was delivered on why women wear hijab and modesty. After the female students were able to try on hijab and male students tried on jubba and attor.
There was also a Quran station where an explanation of the preservation and the Quran was delivered with live Quran played. Many students were captivated by the recitation and had lots of questions to ask!
We had amazing feedback and interaction from students and teachers alike.
If you are interested in YMCO Newport holding an exhibition in your school or venue, do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss further!
