What a fantastic cookalong alhamdulilah! Children and grown ups cooked delicious one pot biryani together, learned new skills or shared their skills and had a really special experience
The Cookalong project has been one of our most anticipated projects, bringing families together to cook, build skills, connect and eat something homemade . Seeing children and adults learning side by side is exactly why this project matters.

Thank you to Newport City Council for funding this project, M&M Grocery for your support with the fresh ingredients, the dedicated Saturday Kids Club Team with team members from other projects without whom this would not have been smooth sailing and of course the families who came to our first cookalong and got stuck in with the cooking… and cleaning!!
More Family Cookalong sessions coming up. These will only be shared in YMCO whatsapp groups to manage capacity.
