We had fantastic support for the Gaza Winter Aid Appeal from the community

We had fantastic support for the Gaza Winter Aid Appeal from the community and your help from bringing high quality, good donations including new items (over 400 bags!), categorising them, and loading the vans made a huge difference and allowed us to hit important shipping deadlines. We really wanted to move quickly because the reality on the ground is urgent : children are turning up barefoot and without proper clothing just to get food.
We want to share a message from Sultana Foundation, which really puts things into perspective.
On 25th December, their field kitchens cooked rice, lentils and a small amount of chicken (which is extremely expensive and hard to get) to feed over 250 orphans and vulnerable families. Some children arrived with no shoes and nearly all had no winter coats or even a basic hoodie or jumper.
This is why your donations and practical help are so invaluable.
The container will be shipped to Egypt once full – and its was about halfway full this time last week as more packing was happening.
We’ll continue to share updates as the next steps unfold, insha Allah.
Huge appreciation to Kate and Ads for driving everything down to Bristol – especially to everyone (men, women and children!!) who stepped in from Newport to help load, organise, share the message and support. Many hands truly turned what could have been a long job into a quick and smooth one.
