A workshop where YMCO groups came together to design and paint silk flags thinking about the future of Maindee
We hosted a workshop where YMCO groups came together to design and paint silk flags thinking about the future of Maindee by adding their personal perspective to the designs.
Those flags were then carried through the streets as part of the local parade at Maindee Festival, with some of the women who made them, joining the parade for the first time ever. They were so proud and happy to take part this way!
It was a celebration of collaboration and visibility. A simple workshop with the impact of belonging in Maindee and Newport. This is what can happen when people create something together.
Big thanks to Kate for capturing them in action we can’t wait to work with you again!
